FAC FORCED THE DISCLOSURE OF NUMEROUS RECORDS THAT CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR JERRY BROWN HAD IMPROPERLY FILED UNDER SEAL IN THE CALIFORNIA SUPREME COURT REGADING HIS EFFORT TO PARDON FORMER STATE SENATOR RODERICK WRIGHT, WHO WAS CONVICTED OF NUMEROUS COUNTS OF PERJURY AND VOTER FRAUD.FAC SUCCESSFULLY OPPOSED AN EFFORT BY POLICE UNIONS IN THE CALIFORNIA SUPREME COURT TO ESSENTIALLY NULLIFY SENATE BILL 1421, A RECENTLY ENACTED LANDMARK POLICE TRANSPARENCY BILL THAT REQUIRES RECORDS ABOUT SERIOUS POLICE MISCONDUCT TO BE MADE PUBLIC.FAC'S LAWSUIT AGAINST THE THE CITY OF SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA RESULTED IN RELEASE OF HUNDREDS OF PAGES OF DOCUMENTS ABOUT THE CITY'S NEGOTIATIONS WITH GOOGLE OVER THE TECH GIANT'S PROPOSED "MEGACAMPUS" IN DOWNTOWN SAN JOSE -- RECORDS THE CITY HAD PREVIOUSLY KEEP SECRET. FAC SUED THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TO FORCE DISCLOSURE OF RECORDS RELATING TO THE GOVERNMENT'S EXTENSIVE COLLECTION OF PHONE AND EMAIL RECORDS OF A NEW YORK TIMES REPORTER -- APPARENTLY IN VIOLATION OF DOJ POLICIES. FAC SUED THE SAN DIEGO DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE FOR ITS FAILURE TO PRODUCE RECORDS OF EMPLOYEES WHO HAD BEEN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT ON THE JOB.
