Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Make-A-Wish San Diego grants the wishes of children between the ages of 2.5 and 18 who have been determined to have a critical illness and qualify for our wish program. A total of 220 wishes were granted during the year. Total cost of wishes granted for the fiscal year was 3,645,713. Of this amount, 970,210 was contributed by various vendors who provided in-kind contributions such as computers, building materials, and other goods as well as travel, transportation, lodging, and use of facilities to complete a child's wish. The chapter provides wish assistance to wish kids coming to San Diego for their wish. The organization received 91,750 of wish assist income to help defray the costs associated with hosting 281 kids and their families. This year the wish types included travel (67%), meeting celebrities (10%), room or backyard makeovers (9%), shopping sprees (8%), and the remaining 6% was a variety of wishes.
