VOF operates to promote outdoor sports and recreation programs and activities for veterans and other persons with disabilities who have suffered spinal cord injury or dysfunction. VOF's activities are devoted to establishing continued opportunities for the funding of outdoor recreation activities, including archery, trapshooting, fishing and hunting. The VOF's fundraising activities will support outdoor recreation programs that help people with physical disabilities lead fuller and healthier lives. VOF has sponsored many fundraising events and programs to this end. Annually, they hold a pheasant hunt where servicemen and women, veterans and their families participate in hunting competitions. The events bolster their self-esteem and enrich their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
