About

Exhibitions / Collections: In 2019, CMA celebrated 141 years of creative experiences, engaged learning, and connectivity for its more than 300,000 annual visitors. CMA houses nearly 13,000 works of art including an internationally recognized collection of American and European modernist works. The January 2019 gift of ownership of the Pizzuti Collection building at 632 North Park Street, along with a selection of artworks, by Ron and Ann Pizzuti, has also elevated CMA's standing as a multi-faceted contemporary program. With the opening of a new center for creativity in 2010, CMA adopted creativity as our social mission and rally call in which to champion, engage and serve our community. We have received widespread recognition for this work including being awarded the national medal from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the nation's highest honor for institutions making significant contributions to their community. The new Margaret M. Walter Wing, opened in 2015, added 50,000+ sq. ft. of livelier, more experiential spaces and increased CMA's public value by deepening its capacity to serve in ways that are relevant and meaningful in the 21st century.
