About
Radiation therapy is provided at the regional cancer center using some of the finest technology available for precise radiation treatments, including a Varian 2100C linear accelerator with multi-leaf collimator, an Eclipse treatment planning system and a GE CT simulator. The 2100C linear accelerator is equipped with an on-board imager (OBI) and RapidArc technology. This equipment allows for precise radiation treatments to be delivered utilizing the latest 3-D conformal and IMRT radiation techniques. The on-board imager allows the radiation oncologists to guide the radiation directly to a tumor by imaging the tumor during treatment with a CT scanner that is incorporated into the linear accelerator. RapidArc technology delivers IMRT treatment. Radiation therapy specialists utilize state-of-the-art equipment for treatment and provide compassionate care for their patients. This team includes board certified radiation oncologist, medical physicists, dosimetrists, therapists and support staff.
