Mission

First Step Home helps women break the cycle of addiction and abuse so that they can become self-sufficient and provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children.

About

Residential treatment: First Step Home is the only residential treatment facility for women in southwest Ohio that allows women to undergo treatment while allowing their children, under the age of 12, to live with them. During fiscal year 2019, 188 women were admitted to our residential program. We provided over 720 bed days for children that lived with their mothers while they were in treatment. 41 babies were born drug free to clients during treatment. The average age of our clients was 31. As reported by the federal government, the 'opiate epidemic' has hit our clients. 62% of our clients have an opiate addiction, down slightly from the past few years as we are now seeing increases in the use of methamphetamines and alcohol. Our clients received over 4,862 nights of room and board, along with 671 hours of individual counseling, 364 hours of group counseling, and 968 hours of case management.
