The Highlights Foundation mission is to improve the quality of children's literature by teaching the craft of writing and illustrating to adults. For more than 30 years, the Highlights Foundation has been fulfilling its mission of improving the quality of children's literature by helping authors and illustrators hone their craft. We offer more than 40 workshops covering a wide range of topics, offering encouragement for both beginning and published authors and illustrators. Workshops are led by children's publishing professionals: editors, authors, art directors, publishers, agents, academics, and others who are dedicated to helping others realize their creative goals. Our workshops provide an intimate atmosphere at just 10-25 students per workshop.
