The PCH community wellness program includes biometric screenings, stroke and skin cancer awareness, tobacco cessation classes, and flu shots. Biometric screenings offered are free or low cost total cholesterol/HDL (good cholesterol)/blood sugar/blood pressure screenings, lipid screenings, and blood pressure only screenings. Events are held in the community at local community centers, senior centers, congregations, employers, etc. In 2018, PCH nurses screened 21,063 individuals. Total screening numbers included 5,480 cholesterol/blood pressure screenings, 161 blood pressure only screenings, 3,780 lipid screenings, 13,399 flu shots, and 4,801 A1C screenings.
