About

In 2019, The Warrior Connection (TWC) continued to witness fantastic success stories from each of our graduate groups, male and female veterans, and military spouses. Successes included graduates who shared joyous reunifications with family, graduates who opened their own business after six years of stagnation post service separation, while another family re-committed to their marriage, and re-engaged in their roles as parents after both veteran and spouse completed our programs. Another graduate, who after a twelve-year rut in life, through the implementation of our Pay-It-Forward model, is now mentoring others by leading a local chapter of recreational therapy for fellow veterans. These are a few of many examples that can be shared from this and every retreat season TWC has offered. These success stories indicate that our graduates continue to find hope, gratitude, and compassion for both themselves and others in their lives. TWC enables our graduates to realize and live brighter futures as a result of their retreat awakenings - something our graduates continually cite as crucial to the continuance of their life journeys. Our 2019 program year began in the Spring with a team training that welcomed more than 30 TWC graduates, mentors, facilitators, trainees, and supporters of or healing work back to our original home in Brattleboro, Vermont. Our retreat season began in May, with 62 TWC graduates, family members, facilitators, staff, and board members gathering for our Annual Reunion. Along with reconnection, and comradery, TWC also had an opportunity to share new HeartMath tools and techniques with our group, as we fold HeartMath into our retreat programming. October of 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of TWC's very first retreat. In that time, TWC has touched hundreds of veterans and families. And while the cost of our program is only $2,500 per participant, the value of each life saved continues to be priceless. Our Program Impact continues to be seen in the numbers. In 2019, TWC saw: 88% Increase in The Number of Military Families Served (approx. 500 families) 53% Increase in Military Spouses Served (approx. 32 spouses) 38% Increase in Female Veterans Served (approx. 56 female veterans) Veterans Served from 46 US States Over 4,300 Hours of Volunteer Support 29 Events and Activities Supported 7 New Team Members Added 275% Increase in Corporate Sponsor Revenue 233% Increase in Individual Donor Giving
