Mission

CSNTM exists to preserve ancient Greek New Testament manuscripts for the modern world. We use and develop digital tools to preserve, share, and study these artifacts. We preserve these manuscripts by partnering with libraries, monasteries, museums, and individuals to digitize their collections. We share them by managing a free online library of manuscript images. And we study Greek New Testament manuscripts by collaborating on research in the field of New Testament textual research.

About

CSNTM's core program is the digitization of Greek New Testament manuscripts. In 2018, the Center digitized more than 8,000 pages of manuscripts at 4 locations. (1) In January, CSNTM digitized 9 Greek New Testament manuscripts and 1 Armenian New Testament manuscript at the Library of the Hellenic Parliament in Athens, Greece. (2) In May, CSNTM digitized 5 Greek New Testament manuscripts at the National Centre of Manuscripts in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, using multispectral imaging on palimpsest codices. (3) In June, CSNTM digitized 1 Greek New Testament manuscript at the Byzantine Museum of Ioannina, Greece. (4) In June, CSNTM also digitized 3 manuscripts at the Institut fr Papyrologie at the University of Heidelberg, using multispectral imaging for all three manuscripts.
