THE FUTURE LEADERS ACADEMY IS OFFERED TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN SARASOTA AND MANATEE COUNTIES, PRIMARILY TO LOW INCOME, FIRST GENERATION LATINO STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. TWO TRACKS ARE OFFERED IN THIS PROGRAM:A) COLLEGE PREP TRACK FOR STUDENTS INTERESED IN ATTENDING 4-YEAR UNIVERSITIES. STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES LEARN THE TOOLS TO SUCCESSFULLY APPLY TO COLLEGE. THEY LEARN ABOUT COLLEGE SELECTION, ACT PREPARATION, RESUME BUILDING, ESSAY WRITING, SCHOLARSHIP SEARCH, LEADERSHIP SKILLS, FAFSA SUPPORT,COLLEGE TOURS, INDIVIDUAL MENTORING, COMMUNITY SERVICE, AND ASSISTANCE WITH THEIR COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS. B)CAREER READINESS TRACK IS OFFERED TO SUPPORT SOPHOMORES/JUNIORS INTERESTED IN ATTENDING 2-YEAR COLLEGES OR TECHNICAL SCHOOLS.
