About
Since 2011 Community LIFT (LIFT) has catalyzed community-led transformation in Memphis' most distressed neighborhoods. Our mission is to accelerate revitalization of disinvested neighborhoods, to create a thriving Memphis for all. LIFT pursues state, regional, and national relationships and dollars and aligns them with local resources. Those investments are strategically distributed as grants to community development corporations (CDCs) and grassroots leaders across Memphis and Shelby County's poorest communities. Community LIFT performs three vital fuctions: 1. Aggregation and alignment of investments, in the form of fiscal sponsorship and grants (project and operating support); 2. Convening key cross-sector stakeholders to build support for neighborhood revitalization; and 3. Improvement of the CDC industry through data-driven assesment, capacity building and outcome-driven accountability.
