Education: Higher Ground supports three district schools, Higginson K-2,Higginson Lewis and David Ellis and parent leadership development in these and other local schools. Higher Ground support and advocacy for the three district schools has resulted in the schools' accessing several new resources. During fiscal year 2019, Higher Ground continued with support services to three local district schools and including supporting the parents, teachers and students at the Higginson K0-2 Full Inclusion School to secure a $500,000 grant from the city of Boston Community Preservation Fund and engage an architect to design a playground that was constructed in the summer of 2019. In fiscal year 2019, Higher Ground continued exploration of building on its support of three local district schools and the Crispus Attucks Children's Center and develop a strong local network or alliance of educational institutions that share best practices and provide a pathway for excellent education beginning in the children's first months of life through middle school.
