About
Local and Global Impact MARC centers serve over 300 at-risk youth in two Jacksonville communities. McKenzie's Academic Resource Centers offer academic tutoring, mentoring and development programs for students of all ages. The MARC builds the bridge between the classroom and community by connecting teachers, tutors, mentors and volunteers to our students. In addition, MARC students attend "Kamp Kenzie", a 6-week summer camp providing enriching and fun activities. AMAKA GA MCKENZIE "McKenzie's Home" - The Foundation built three homes at the Okoa Refuge Orphanage in Uganda, Africa and in partnership with Okoa Refuge, provides medical care, food, shelter, education and love to over 75 girls, boys and infants. These facilities consist of a boy's home, girl's home and abandoned baby home along with a staff that give love and care to these orphaned children. The Foundation has committed to $250,000 to Okoa's "Child Sponsorship Fund" over 5 years, ensuring that no child is turned away. Learn more on how to sponsor a child on our website. McKenzie Clubs unite and mobilize middle and high school students to care for others through volunteerism and charitable involvement. Club members participate in Foundation events such as McKenzie's Run and Teal Day and help mentor students at the MARC. Also, club members spread love throughout the community through our "Random Acts of Kindness" campaign. Teal Day is celebrated every spring while McKenzie Clubs and student groups raise awareness for an annual fundraising project with a local and global impact. McKenzie's Run is held every November at EverBank Field. McKenzie's Run 5k and 1 mile fun run unites the community, while raising support and awareness for the Foundation. Liv-N-Grace bracelets and jewelry were created to help heal while also honoring McKenzie, who embodied faith, love, hope and transformation. Each piece is hand-crafted and unique. 100% of all proceeds go to the Foundation.
