In 2017, Heart2heart recruited 167 volunteers from local churches, corporations and civic organizations who were then trained and placed in 42 long term care centers throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties. Volunteers visited elderly residents anywhere from one to four times a month. Visits consisted of one-on-one visitation and group activities. The number of elderly residents that benefitted from group visitation ranged from eight to twenty per visit. An estimated number of elderly residents who received visits from Heart2heart volunteers in 2017 is more than 1,000.
