The mission of ROX is to create generations of confident girls who control their own relationships, experiences, decisions and futures. ROX executes this mission this through 3 pillars of expertise: • Conducting innovative research with girls, • Educating the community on issues impacting girls, and • Implementing evidence-based programming for girls.

Ruling Our Experiences, Inc. (ROX) provides evidence-based interventions focused on the education and empowerment of girls. ROX programming includes: a 20-week curriculum for girls, professional development training for teachers, counselors, and educators, workshops and trainings for parents and community members, and research and evaluations with girls. In ROX, elementary, middle, and high school girls have the opportunities to explore the major issues that impact girls during their adolescent years including: confidence, body image, girl drama and bullying, social media and cyberbullying, safety and sexual violence prevention, stress and coping, academic and career development, and leadership. ROX is delivered by licensed education and counseling professionals and is designed to give girls a safe place to share things going on in their lives with other girls and to learn skills to effectively negotiate the challenges of adolescence. After participating in ROX: 83% of girls have higher levels of self-esteem; 94% of girls report feeling more connected to other girls and less alone; 88% of girls feel safer and more confident that they can protect themselves; 78% of girls have improved school attendence or feel an increased connection to school; 90% of girls report that they plan to attend college after they graduate. Girls who participate in ROX develop healthier communication and problem-solving skills. There was a 63% reduction in girl bullying behavior among girls who participated in ROX.
