KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION, INC. (THE "ASSOCIATION") WAS ESTABLISHED AND INCORPORATED AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA IN 2010 TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS OF KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY (THE "UNIVERSITY") BY ENCOURAGING PARTICIPATION IN RECREATION AND ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES. THE ASSOCIATION AND THE UNIVERSITY ENTERED INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON JULY 11, 2011, AMENDED, WHICH OUTLINED CERTAIN RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF EACH PARTY WITH REGARDS TO THE MANAGEMENT AND ENHANCEMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY'S ATHLETIC PROGRAM. THE UNIVERSITY WILL CONTINUE TO PROCESS EMPLOYEE PAYROLL AND BENEFITS AND THE MAJORITY OF ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS. THE ASSOCIATION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OPERATIONS OF THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT'S 18 SPORTS AND WILL PERFORM THE FUNCTIONS RELATED TO TEAM TRAVEL, GAME DAY, FIELD MAINTENANCE, APPAREL AND EQUIPMENT, INSURANCE, MEDICAL EXPENSES, FUNDRAISING AND MARKETING, AND GENERAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE.

THE KSUAA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FUNCTIONS OF THESE TEAMS RELATED TO TEAM TRAVEL, GAME DAY, FIELD MAINTENANCE, RECRUITING, APPAREL AND EQUIPMENT, SCHOLARSHIPS, AND INSURANCE TO NAME A FEW OF THE MAJOR TASKS.CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINERS PERFORM SPORTS MEDICINE SERVICES FOR OUR ATHLETES. THE ATHLETIC TRAINERS ARE HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS WHO COLLABORATE WITH PHYSICIANS TO OPTIMIZE ACTIVITY AND PARTICIPATION OF PATIENTS AND CLIENTS. ATHLETIC TRAINING ENCOMPASSES THE PREVENTION, DIAGNOSIS, AND INTERVENTION OF EMERGENCY, ACUTE, AND CHRONIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS INVOLVING IMPAIRMENT, FUNCTIONAL LIMITATIONS, AND DISABILITIES.
