THE MISSION OF AUTISM TENNESSEE IS TO ENRICH THE LIVES AND EXPERIENCES OF INDIVIDUALS ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THEIR SURROUNDING COMMUNITY THROUGH SUPPORT, ADVOCACY, AND EDUCATION. THE FUNDAMENTAL VISION OF OUR MISSION IS TO CREATE A COMMUNITY WHERE PEOPLE ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM AND THEIR FAMILIES FIND RESPECT, ACCEPTANCE AND HOPE.

AUTISM TENNESSEE DISSEMINATES KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION TO EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, AND THE COMMUNITY IMPACTED BY AUTISM. EDUCATION- AUTISM TN HELD 15 PARENT EDUCATION EVENTS SERVING 140 FAMILIES. THE SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES AND POST-SECONDARY FAIR HOSTED 26 EXHIBITORS AND 62 FAMILIES ATTENDED. THE FALL CONFERENCE FEATURED SPEAKER TEMPLE GRANDIN AND WAS ATTENDED BY OVER 400 PROFESSIONALS AND PARENTS. LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAININGS HOSTED 60+ OFFICERS. TEEN AND ADULT PROGRAMMING HELD MONTHLY WITH 80+ PARTICIPANTS SIGNED UP. OUTREACH- LINK CONSULTING COMPLETED SIX LARGE PROJECTS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO MAXIMIZE THEIR SERVICE DELIVERY TO THE AUTISM POPULATION. EIGHT COMMUNITY AMBASSADOR VOLUNTEERS TRAINED TO ASSIST WITH PROGRAM DELIVERY IN RURAL COUNTIES. AUTISM TN PARTICIPATED IN THE EXPANSION OF THE INCLUSIVE NETWORK OF NASHVILLE WELCOMING MORE PUBLIC VENUES TO BE SUPPORTED IN THEIR EFFORTS TO INCLUDE NEURODIVERSE POPULATIONS. AUTISM TN IS A COMMUNITY PARTICIPANT IN THE AUTISM COUNCIL ON AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER MEETING QUARTERLY TO STREAMLINE ACCESS TO AUTISM RELATED INTERVENTIONS AND RESOURCES. PARTICIPATION IN AUTISM SUMMIT TEAM MEETINGS, DISABILITY DAY ON THE HILL, PUBLIC POLICY EFFORTS. WEBSITE EXPANSION TO CREATE RURAL ACCESS TO EDUCATIONAL EVENTS PROVIDED BY AUTISM TN. SUPPORT- HELPLINE AVERAGES 16 "TOUCHES" A DAY WITH THE COMMUNITY REQUESTING ASSISTANCE. THESE "TOUCHES" COME FROM OUR WEBSITE, PHONE, EMAIL, TEXT, AND SOCIAL MEDIA. THE HELPLINE REQUESTS ARE AS SIMPLE AS A REFERRAL TO A LOCAL PROVIDER, AND AS COMPLEX AS A DEVASTATED PARENT OF A NEWLY DIAGNOSED CHILD WITH NO RESOURCES OR DIRECTION. AUTISM TN HOSTS MONTHLY FAMILY FUN EVENTS THAT PROVIDE FAMILIES WITH A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE GROUP TO ENGAGE IN SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. AWARENESS- AUTISM TN HOSTS EVENTS IN THE COMMUNITY TO RAISE AWARENESS, ACCEPTANCE, AND INCLUSION OF AUTISM. IN 2018, WE HOSTED FAMILY FUN EVENTS AT THE NASHVILLE SOUNDS BASEBALL AUTISM NIGHT, THE NASHVILLE SOCCER CLUB AUTISM NIGHT, WORLD AUTISM DAY AT THE NASHVILLE ZOO, AND AT OTHER LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT MIDDLE TENNESSEE. THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PARTICIPATES IN NUMEROUS SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS TO RAISE AWARENESS AND INCLUSION FROM EARLY CHILDHOOD TO CORPORATE WORKPLACES.
