Mission

To facilitate supportive relationships for children through family and friends reading aloud with them.

About

Family Connections - Focuses on the importance of facilitating family bonds for children and youth in family situations where a parent is separated from them due to being incarcerated for a period of time. The volunteer-driven program provides an interactive workshop forum for incarcerated parents to learn about the importance of reading aloud with their children at home. Story books are provided and read aloud by these parents on DVD so they can send them home to their children, letting them know that they care, and that they value reading as an important family activity. These parents are able to reach out to their children in a beneficial manner.
