Mission

KNOM Radio Mission exists to be a conduit for encountering Christ, embracing culture, empowering growth, and engaging the listener in Western Alaska.

About

KNOM Radio Mission exists to be a conduit for encountering Christ, embracing culture, empowering growth, and engaging the listener in Western Alaska. The work of KNOM is steeped in its values: to be a friend and companion, provide respectful service based on Catholic ideals. KNOM's listeners (numbering 20,000-30,000 people) are spread across 100,000 square miles of remote Alaska. Most listeners live in villages along the Bering Sea Coast and eastward toward the Alaskan Interior. KNOM has calculated, despite short staffing in FY19, that nearly $81,588.42 of expenses are saved because these services are performed by an FTE equivalent staff of 2 contracted volunteers (net after stipends, living allowances & fellowships). This amount is not included as either income or expense.
