About
ATEF planned and staged 40 share the road safety events throughout the state, including presentations to high schools, safety fairs, and other venues with approximately 11,000 in attendance at these events. The goal of the programs was to train participants on how to safely share the road with large trucks and buses. ATEF awarded ten scholarships totaling 14,000. ATEF contracted with scholarship management services to screen applicants, verify information and make final recommendations. Ten dependents of trucking industry employees received 1000 to 2000 scholarships. ATEFS safety awards program recognized companies and individuals who have contributed to improved truck safety in Arizona. Co-sponsors of the non-cash awards were the Arizona Department of Public Safety, J. J. Keller and Associates, and Transtar Insurance Brokers.
