Scholarships that further educational purposes are the principal activity of the Organization,with 75% of the organization's time devoted to the selection and administration of this program. Scholarship applicants will be expected to show strength of character, enterprise, and personal initiative. Special consideration will be given to students who are unique, with a strong interest in school or community activities, and those who exhibit an unusual capacity for creativeproblem solving. Scholarships will be considered for a wide range of support - four year collegiate institutions, graduate school, community colleges and specialized trade schools. Charitable support will be provided to nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations for many areas: computers, software and technology equipment for classrooms, buildingrenovations, Artist in the Schools programs, reading programs, educational mini-grant programs, library expansions, pre-school programs and others.

In 2019, BSA continued its Buck Fellows Program, an initiative to mobilize the Buck Scholar community to help expand educational opportunities for a new generation of promising Northern California students. BSA membership now has over 288 Buck Scholars and 32 Buck Fellows. In addition, the BSA convened it's members (Buck Scholars & Fellows) in five regional gatherings, two retreats, and one annual gathering. BSA will continue to expand its educational program and communication efforts.
