About this organization
Mission
The mission of the Key Clubhouse of South Florida is to afford people whose lives have been disrupted by mental illness the opportunity to recover meaningful and productive lives through reintegration into the workplace and the community. Our goal is a high quality of life for all members, ongoing improvement, and the ultimate elimination of stigma associated with mental illness.
About
We operate one program, an evidence-based Clubhouse program for adults with severe mental illness. Individuals are welcomed into the Clubhouse as members, where they work side-by-side with staff on meaningful tasks and gain pre-employment skills as part of their recovery process. Tasks include working on computers, preparing and serving meals, and recruiting and training new members. The Clubhouse also provides assistance in accessing resources in the community, including supported and independent employment. The overall goal of the Clubhouse is to reduce isolation and prepare members to live more independent lives, thereby reducing the likelihood of hospitalization, incarceration, and homelessness.
