About this organization
Mission
Project 1.27's mission is to inspire, recruit and resource churches and families to foster and adopt the kids in our own backyard
About
Inspired and recruited parents from Colorado churches to serve the children in Colorado's child welfare system. Through our 27 faith-based seminars held this past year across the state, 170 individuals attended the state-certified training required to become foster and adoptive parents. An additional 360 participants were trained as support team members for the fostering families. Project 1.27 then helped participants select appropriate agencies and provided ongoing support throughout the foster and adoption process. Project 1.27 parents served 181 foster children including both 29 family reunifications and 34 finalized adoptions during fiscal year ending June 30, 2019. See schedule O. Project 1.27 also supported similar ministries in Arizona, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Virginia, Washington D.C., North Carolina, Minnesota, Ohio and Georgia and provided information, resources and encouragement to over 25 national inquiries.
