About
Cargo exists to meet the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of the community's youth in an outdoor environment. This includes providing students opportunities for horsemanship, fishing, hiking, arts and crafts, and gardening. Each student attends Cargo free of charge because of the financial support we receive each year. As part of their involvement, students take part in daily chores at Cargo, including tending the garden, writing thank you notes to donors, grooming the horses and clearing the ground of debris. In 2017, Cargo served 40 students, ages 7-18, from the community with help from 50 weekly volunteers. Also in 2017, Cargo had one student who graduated from high school, which we believe to have played a critical role in his emotional development.
