PUBLIC & SCIENTIFIC AWARNESS, TRAINING, AND RECOGNITION IS PROVIDED THROUGH AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE FEATURING HIGH-QUALITY, EVIDENCE-BASED INFORMATION ON COLOR RELATED ISSUES IN DENTISTRY PRESENTED BY MANY OF THE LEADERS IN THIS FIELD. THE 10TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD IN 2018. PRESENTATIONS BY VARIOUS INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS DURING THE CONFERENCE QUALIFIED FOR UP TO 16 HOURS OF CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION FOR ALL ATTENDEES. NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR RECOGNITION, FUNDING, AND CONTINUING EDUCATION OF LABORATORY TECHNICIANS AND RESEARCHERS ARE PROVIDED THROUGH ANNUAL COMPETITIONS AND AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN DENTAL TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH RELATED TO COLOR AND APPEARANCE IN ESTHETIC DENTISTRY. AWARDS IN VARIOUS CATEGORIES ARE PRESENTED AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE. THE BEST POSTERS IN THE EXCELLENCE IN CLINICAL AND RESEARCH CATEGORY RECEIVED A SCAD VITA AWARD STIPEND OF 1,500 EACH. THE LARSEN-CHU AWARD OPEN TO DENTAL TECHNICIANS WITH LESS THAN 10 YEARS IN PRACTICE AND THE VIRTUOSO AWARD OPEN TO DENTAL TECHNICIANS WITH MORE THAN 10 YEARS IN PRACTICE FOR EXCELLENCE IN DENTAL TECHNOLOGY WERE ALSO AWARDED AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION SUPPORTS AND PROMOTES THE BEST CLINICAL AND LABORATORY PRACTICE AND RESEARCH RELATED TO COLOR AND APPEARANCE IN DENTISTRY VIA PUBLICATION IN THE JOURNAL OF ESTHETIC AND RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY (JERD) WITH TWO ISSUES PER YEAR DEVOTED TO COLOR AND APPEARANCE IN DENTISTRY.
