The mission of the Biocom Institute is to support life science innovation and success in San Diego by providing our community with K-12 student and teacher STEM outreach, innovative industry-vetted professional development programs and key veteran focused mentorship and internship programs.

The Biocom Institute produces the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering (SDFSE). The SDFSE reaches out to K-12 students, their families and other community members. Activities are designed for San Diego's diverse student population and span school districts ranging from Oceanside and San Marcos to Poway, El Cajon and Sweetwater. Through interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities and engaging speakers, the festival shows students of all social and economic backgrounds that they have the potential to become tomorrow's leading scientists, engineers and innovators. SDFSE served approximately 60,000 community members in 2018.
