FEATURE FILMS: When the Smoke Clears pre-launched and won film festival awards 11,500 high school students watched the film in a single day during our pre-launch screening campaign.950 college students watched the film digitally, from the comfort of their own dorm rooms. The film was featured at a dozen film festivals and won three prestigious awards. Sustainable Nation premiered across North America Sustainable Nation premiered at three sold out, high-profile, fundraising and brand-raising events in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City. The film inspired existing Jerusalem U supporters and partners, along with hundreds of new faces, and also educated them about the overall mission and important work of JU. Hummus! The Movie now screened at over 125 film festivals In 2018 Hummus! continued to grow and touch people across the globe and has received widespread critical acclaim. The film collected 14 awards from film festivals in North America, Europe and Asia. Israel Education Media Lab 2.0 launched A first-of-its-kind website for formal and experiential educators searching for ways to give students a substantive and sophisticated Israel education. The Israel Education Media Lab provides a broad range of educational materials to inspire, connect and teach students ages 13-24. 2000+ educators received our weekly Israel current events recap, which provides analysis, discussion questions and practical classroom tips to improve Israel education. The website includes: -Weekly Israel current events recap -Reaches 2,000+ educators -30% subscriber increase since launch -New History of Israel Explained video series -Five feature films with educator guides History of Israel Explained video series released on YouTube (in December 2018) History of Israel Explained is an ambitious 50-part YouTube series that helps curious viewers unpack the many complexities of modern-day Israel. Aimed at high school and college students, it mixes education with entertainment to get viewers excited about Israeli history. Approximately 50 short films will be released weekly on YouTube, starting December 2018 and throughout 2019. They cover topics such as the origins of Zionism, British-Mandate Palestine, women in Israeli history and society and Jewish-Arab relations. Viewers are encouraged to watch other Jerusalem U content and subscribe to our YouTube channel to learn even more about Israel and Judaism. At Jerusalem U, we have developed a deep knowledge of best YouTube practices to reach our target market. We are designing this series based on these practices along with keyword searches, analysis of current video offerings and relevance to college course syllabi. YouTube channel revamped, over 1.8 million minutes watched (and growing) To better connect with and impact our target audience, we prioritized short films and social media platforms like Youtube, Facebook and Instagram this year. Our dedicated product team conducted extensive research about our audience for short films to develop key strategies to design the most relevant content. We had 750,000 views of our content in 2018. Prepared gap year students for life on campus The JU Israel gap year program grew in 2018 to 26 gap-year schools in Israel. Our program combined high-level content, interactive classroom activities and immersive experiences across Israel. We reached over 580 students annually with an average of 25 hours of Israel learning. Our 2,500 alumni are enrolled in or graduated from 247 universities across North America.
