MATHEMATICS ENRICHMENT CLASSES FOR HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS - During FYE 6/30/19, New York Math Circle held an intensive summer high school program, and 44 weekend and summer courses for students: 10 in the summer, 17 in the fall semester, and 17 in the spring. Over 960 registrants were served, representing about 640 different middle and high school students, many attending more than one course. About 600 classroom sessions were held, and over 25,000 instructional student-hours were provided. We aim to enrich and supplement mathematical education in New York City by providing students with superb instruction in a friendly atmosphere, and offering material not usually encountered in the regular curriculum. We also seek to stimulate the enjoyment, appreciation, and knowledge of Mathematics through problem-solving and guided discovery, to strengthen students existing knowledge, and to cultivate the motivation and capacity for future studies. Furthermore, we strive to make the classes available to all interested students, regardless of financial means.
