To support the DPEA mission by providing financial resources, long term direction and enabling systems and structures. The objectives include raising the capital to build a new DPEA facility, securing the funds to operate DPEA and creating and managing systems and structures to support DPEA. The foundation had advanced funds to the Santa Barbara school district for construction pursuant to the memorandum of understanding between the DPEA and the school district. Construction began in 2010 and was finished in 2011. Continuing costs are incurred ongoing to upgrade and maintain the facility and equipment and to pay instructors salaries.
