About this organization
Mission
A spring of hope is an international ngo bringing water, permaculture, sanitation and economic opportunities to disadvantaged rural south africa communities.
About
In 2019, a spring of hope drilled at three schools and two community gardens. We assisted one of the community gardens with tools, training, seedlings, and fencing to help them establish their garden. Gardens were also started at the three new partner schools. Tools, training, and seedlings were also provided to encourage and assist the schools. We hosted four permaculture workshops for all of our partner schools and community gardens. Two of these workshops were held at our permaculture center's outdoor classroom. We continued our repairs and maintenance at various sites. We introduced our new safer kitchen program installing propane stoves at three of our partner schools. We also built a new kitchen building at one of the schools. The main building of our permaculture center was completed this year, with the roof erected. Our community garden has also expanded to include moringa trees and a multitude of vegetables that can be harvested year round.
