About

FOBSD supported the school by paying salaries for their growing staff for the year and providing funds to supplement food supplies for the children, and transportation and repair costs for the school. Additional funds supported tutors who added to the education of older students participating in continuing education in the public sector. FOBSD sent a major shipment of paint to upgrade the exterior of the campus buildings. Along with that shipment, donation of books for the school library making the total books over 3,000 for the use of students and teachers. This makes it one of the best school libraries in the region. Some of the funds were used to support the training of interpreters both in Abuja at the international conference and to spread information about the professionalization of interpreting Cameroon. For example, one of the subsequent meetings held in Buea, attracted 70 participants with presentations made by at least five BSD administrators and staff. A resulting goal is to raise awareness about the need for interpreters in public educational settings and also for access to healthcare and government services.
