About this organization
Mission
Support small farms and other businesses, and bring sustainable healthy products to an urban community.
About
We continuted to grow our weekly farmer's market, expanding to include over 100 vendors whose sales topped $1.6 million. Thanks to the success of the market, we were able to cut our fees to local growers in half during the 2018 program year, providing them an additional $ 7,163. We added a craft market to our Saturday markets once each month, and hosted many free workshops on sustainable practices such as utilizing gray water and how to compost. We introduced student chefs to the community in partnership with C-Cap by hosting a cooking demonstration using local ingredients. Our Double Up Food Bucks program provided an additional $11,000 to needy families so that they could could purchase healthly foods.used by the market.Improvements were made to the market's parking facility using funds generated in previous years.
