INTEGRATED STUDENT SERVICES CIS PROVIDES AN EVIDENCE-BASED MODEL, INTEGRATED STUDENT SERVICES (ISS) FOR MORE THAN 8,000 STUDENTS AT TEN SCHOOLS IN TWO SCHOOL DISTRICTS. ISS UTILIZES A SITE COORDINATOR, WHO LEVERAGES COMMUNITY RESOURCES WHILE ALSO PROVIDING SUPPORT SERVICES, LIFE SKILLS, TARGETED INTERVENTIONS, AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS, PARENT ENGAGEMENT AND BASIC NEEDS. THE DESIGN OF THIS INTERVENTION IS BASED OFF OF A STAKEHOLDER NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND RESOURCE MAP OF SERVICES COMING INTO THE SCHOOL. THE SITE COORDINATORS BRING TOGETHER MANY PARTNERS TO OFFER A RANGE OF SUPPORTS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH, FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITIES. COMMUNITY SCHOOLS CIS SERVES AS THE LEAD PARTNER FOR FOUR SCHOOL SITES IN DEPLOYING THE COMMUNITY SCHOOL MODEL. THIS PROGRAM LEVERAGES PARTNERSHIPS AND VITAL COMMUNITY RESOURCES FOR USE IN THE SCHOOL THAT ARE DELIVERED TO BOTH STUDENTS AND FAMILIES. WHILE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS FOCUS IS TO IMPROVE SCHOOL WIDE PERFORMANCE, THERE IS A SPECIALIZED FOCUS IN EACH BUILDING THAT IS DESIGNED AND ANNUALLY UPDATED THROUGH A NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND ASSET MAP. OUT OF SCHOOL (OST) PROGRAMMING CIS PROVIDES AFTERSCHOOL AND OUT OF SCHOOL PROGRAMMING FOR ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS. TEACHERS IN THE PARKS FOR THE SUMMER (TIPS) IS A PROGRAM THAT SERVES MORE THAN 300 STUDENTS FOCUSED ON SUMMER SLIDE PREVENTION. ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMING THAT OCCURS OUT OF SCHOOL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO PARENT ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS, AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS, ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. COMMUNITY OF HOPE (COH) PROGRAM COH IS A PROGRAM THAT WORKS TOGETHER ACROSS SYSTEMS/SECTORS TO IMPROVE THE BROADER CONDITIONS AFFECTING THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND OPPORTUNITIES OF CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE INITIATIVE TOUCHES DIFFERENT POPULATIONS INCLUDING: OFFICE OF CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES, CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, HOMELESS/NEAR HOMELESS FAMILIES, FAMILIES LIVING IN POVERTY, CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE ISSUES, PERSONS WHO ARE UNEMPLOYED/UNDEREMPLOYED, AND MANY OTHERS.
