VISITOR EXPERIENCE & INTERPRETATION - THE FRICK PROVIDES HIGH-QUALITY, ENGAGING, INTELLIGENT PROGRAMS AND EXPERIENCES FOR EACH AND EVERY VISITOR, INCLUDING THOSE WHO WANT TO LEARN FROM THE FRICK BUT CANNOT VISIT THE MUSEUM IN PERSON. THROUGH SCHOOL TOURS AND WORKSHOPS, ADULT WORKSHOPS, LECTURES, FILMS, CONCERTS AND OTHER PROGRAMS, THE FRICK'S RESOURCES ARE USED TO ILLUMINATE, FOR A WIDE AUDIENCE, THE ART, HISTORY, ARCHITECTURE AND CULTURE OF A PIVOTAL TIME IN PITTSBURGH'S HISTORY. CLAYTON SAW ATTENDANCE OF 19,700 VISITORS SIMILAR TO PRIOR YEARS. THE CAR AND CARRIAGE MUSEUM EXCEEDED ATTENDANCE OF THE PRIOR FISCAL YEAR BY 23% WITH 44,500 VISITORS DUE TO THE SPECIAL EXHIBIT, DRIVING THE DISENFRANCHISED AND THE SIGNIFICANT FOOT TRAFFIC GENERATED BY THE ART MUSEUM. THE ART MUSEUM WAS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL BY FAR WITH 68,700 VISITORS NEARLY 150% OVER THE PRIOR FISCAL YEAR DUE TO VAN GOGH MONET DEGAS AND ISABELLE DE BORCHGRAVE. THE SOLID MARKETING PROGRAM AT THE FRICK HELPS TO BRING VISITORS TO THE SITE TO EXPERIENCE THE EXHIBITS AND PROGRAMS. NEARLY 16,000 STUDENTS, BOTH YOUTH AND ADULTS, ATTENDED PROGRAMS AT THE FRICK DURING FISCAL YEAR 2019. IN ADDITION, THE POPULAR "SUMMER FRIDAYS" PROGRAM OFFERS FREE ENTERTAINMENT TO THE PUBLIC IN THE EVENING FOR 12 WEEKS DURING THE SUMMER. VISITORS CAN COME AND EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTIFUL GARDENS AND GROUNDS, VISIT ONE OF THE MUSEUMS OR THE GREENHOUSE AS WELL AS SUPPORT THE CAFE OR SHOP. FISCAL YEAR 2019 HAD 80% MORE VISITORS THAN THE PRIOR YEAR ON SUMMER FRIDAYS AT 22,000.
