About this organization
Mission
Our mission is to prevent blindness and promote independence for those who have lost sight.
About
Prevention of blindness: In fiscal year 2019, the Sight Center provided 5617 vision screenings in pre-schools, day-cares, childcare centers and kindergarten registration events in our seven county service area. We also assisted nurses in elementary and middle schools by screening those youngsters identified as 'hard to screen,' including autistic, non-verbal, non-English speaking and behavior-challenged children. The center's diabetes prevention program, once again, received full national recognition by the national centers for disease control and prevention. The program achieved the area's highest ratings for successful participation and retention in the program.
