About this organization
Mission
Established in 1955 by founding artistic director Marcia Dale Weary, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) is a nationally recognized school of classical ballet. Our mission is to inspire, educate and enrich lives through training in and performance of classical ballet.
About
CPYB is first an educational center drawing students from across the nation and around the world to its academic year and summer classical ballet training programs. Accomplished faculty, equipped with a proven curriculum, teach students in the school's preschool, primary, and pre-professional divisions with each program challenging students and supporting their physical, mental, artistic, and emotional development consistent with that level. Summer ballet program students participate in a comprehensive curriculum that brings together the finest in technique, strengthening, and artistry. Performance opportunities, crucial in the training of a young dancer, provide academic year students with experience in working with choreographers across a broad range of repertory.
