LAND PROTECTION: ASLPT HAS ADOPTED A WRITTEN CONSERVATION PLAN WHICH INCLUDES A PRIORITIZED AND COMPREHENSIVE LIST OF PROPERTIES WORTHY OF PROTECTION. ASLPT PROTECTS PROPERTIES THROUGH BOTH CONSERVATION EASEMENTS AND FEE SIMPLE ACQUISITION. LAND PROTECTION INCLUDES REVIEW, EVALUATION AND DETAILED RESEARCH BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE PROTECTION OF A PROPERTY. ASLPT INSURES THAT EVERY TRANSACTION IS LEGAL, PROPER AND APPROPRIATE TO THE GOALS OF THE LAND TRUST. WE COMPILE BASELINE DOCUMENTATION DETAILING AN ACCURATE REPRESENTATION OF THE PROPERTY AND ITS CONDITION AT THE TIME OF ITS TRANSFER. DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR WE ACQUIRED THREE CONSERVATION EASEMENTS INCLUDING THE ACTIVELY MANAGED BROWN FAMILY'S FRAIZER BROOK FARM IN WARNER. THIS RICH PROPERTY BOASTS 1,700 FEET OF FRONTAGE ON THE FRAZIER BROOK, A MAJOR TRIBUTARY TO SCHOODAC BROOK. IT IS ADJACENT TO OTHER PARCELS OF PROTECTED PROPERTY AND HELPS TO EXPAND AND PROTECT A CORRIDOR OF LAND FROM WARNER THROUGH SALISBURY AND INTO ANDOVER AND WEBSTER IMPORTANT FOR THE MIGRATION OF VARIOUS SPECIES. THE 94-ACRE WEBB/CROWELL FOREST IN SUTTON WAS CONSERVED TO PROTECT THE WATER QUALITY ALONG THE LANE RIVER, THE PROPERTY'S HIGH QUALITY WILDLIFE HABITAT AND PROVIDE RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL HIKERS. THE O'NEIL CONSERVATION EASEMENT PROTECTS RUSSELL POND, WILDLIFE HABITAT AND PROVIDES A SCENIC VIEW FOR PEOPLE TRAVELLING ON NH ROUTE 114.
