Mission
The IAC became responsible for comprehensive planning, review and comment on human service funding proposals, preparation of allocation plans, and review of existing service contracts. The IAC also fostered coordination among local, state and national public and private organization serving the citizens of Salem County. Community based human services planning and advocacy remains a major function of the Inter Agency Council, however there has been much expansion over the past 50 years. The IAC also provides the administration for the Salem County Comprehensive Emergency Assistance System (CEAS), the Emergency Food and Shelter Program and is the Continuum of Care Program (CoC) for Salem County.

Youth services - the Salem County Inter Agency Council provides administration for the Salem County Youth Services Commission (YSC) and during 2015, the IAC helped the YSC develop and complete the 2015-2017 comprehensive plan update that included updated priorities and funding recommendations for 2016.
