THE COMMUNITY BASED PRE-SCHOOL AND INFANT PROGRAM, PARTIALLY FUNDED BY NJDHS AND PARTIALLY BY PRIVATE FEES PROVIDES EARLY EDUCATION AND FAMILY SERVICES TO 52 CHILDREN, AGES 3 MONTHS-5 YEARS OF AGE, THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FROM 7:30AM TO 5:30PM. THE ABBOTT PROGRAM IS FUNDED PARTIALLY BY THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION THROUGH THE HOBOKEN BOARD OF EDUCATION. IT PROVIDES EARLY EDUCATION SERVICES TO AN ESTIMATED 495 CHILDREN, 3 AND 4 YEARS OF AGE, AND THEIR FAMILIES FOR 180 DAYS OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.WRAP-AROUND SERVICES FOR THE ABBOTT PROGRAM ARE PROVIDED BY NJDHS, WHICH IS FUNDED BY THE URBAN LEAGUE OF HUDSON COUNTY FOR THOSE THAT ARE INCOME ELIGIBLE. THOSE THAT ARE OVER THE INCOME LEVELS PAY A FEE THAT IS UNIFORM THROUGHOUT THE HOBOKEN SCHOOL DISTRICT. WRAP-AROUND IS PROVIDED TO ABOUT 75 CHILDREN PER YEAR. THE ENTIRE PROGRAM PROVIDES EARLY EDUCATION AND FAMILY SERVICES FROM 7:30AM- 8:30AM AND 2:30PM TO 5:30 PM DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR AND FULL TIME DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS FROM 7:30AM TO 5:30PM. ABOUT 25% OF THE ABBOTT CHILDREN NEED THIS SERVICE. IT IS NOT OPENED TO OTHER FAMILIES.THE CHILD CARE FOOD PROGRAM IS FUNDED BY THE NJDOA TO PROVIDE FOOD SERVICES AT THE RUE SITE FOR 92 CHILDREN. AGE APPROPRIATE MEALS (BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND SNACK) ARE PROVIDED.MILE SQUARE DCC DOES NOT PROVIDE GRANTS TO ANY OTHER AGENCIES.
