The annual Decatur Book Festival is a community event open to the public and supported by cash contributions from the corporate community and others as well as in-kind donations. It is one of the largest Book Festivals in the United States and brings authors from around the country. There are venues around the city wherein attendees may hear and meet with these authors. The Decatur Book Festivals Labor Day weekend event brings over 80,000 people to an annual gathering that supports literacy efforts throughout Atlanta. Is is free to the public.
