CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT: KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS BY NATION: NEPAL RAN LEADERSHIP CHARACTER PROGRAMS IN 26 COLLEGES. MORE THAN 1500 PARTICIPANTS ATTENDED THE PROGRAMS. EARTHQUAKE RELIEF WORK CONTINUED BY FUNDRAISING FOR AND COORDINATING VOLUNTEERS FOR 8 DIFFERENT RELIEF CENTERS. IN PHILIPPINES, SERVICE LEARNING ACTIVITIES KNOWN AS "KARITON KLASRUM" WERE ORGANIZED EVERY WEEKEND IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, AND BARANGAY GOVERNMENT. IT IS AN ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION SYSTEM TARGETING STREET CHILDREN THAT CANNOT AFFORD FORMAL SCHOOLING. OVER 1800 YOUTHS WERE BENEFITED. IN SOUTH KOREA, THE CORE VALUES ACADEMY GREW 48% IN PARTICIPANTS INCLUDING MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. IT HELD A NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMER PROGRAM CALLED THE "JUNIOR LEADERSHIP TASK FORCE" INVOLVING 45 YOUTHS. IN LATIN AMERICA, BFAI ORGANIZED A NATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE, "UNITED FOR TITICACA". ITS FOCUS WAS ON FOSTERING LEADERSHIP IN TACKLING SOCIAL ISSUES - ESPECIALLY INEQUALITY OF ACCESS TO EDUCATION. 520 UNIVERSITY STUDENTS JOINED. TAIWAN LAUNCHED THE CORE VALUES ACADEMY IN THE NATION'S CAPITAL WITH AN INITIAL PARTICIPATION OF 8 FAMILIES. A WEEK-LONG INTERNATIONAL CHAPTER LEADERS MEETING WAS HELD TO STRENGTHEN DEVELOPMENT.
