Mission

World's Children seeks to provide humanitarian aid and assistance to people and communities living in poverty around the world, and especially to those living in the most under-developed areas. Recognizing that children are often helpless victims of poverty and disaster and yet it is they who will shape the future, this organization provides support, shelter, maintenance and education to children either directly or through institutions established to provide for the basic needs of orphaned, disabled, impoverished, AIDS afflicted or otherwise disadvantaged children.

About

Child Sponsorship: Through the child sponsorship program, World's Children sent monetary aid in the amount of $250,957 for the care of approximately 764 children in 30 orphanages in India, Ethiopia, and Guatemala. Another $1,587 was spent to cover medical emergencies for three children at two orphanages.Scholarships: Worlds Children aims for successful outcomes through our scholarship program for disadvantaged young men and women. The goal is to stop child trafficking in this targeted area, which has a total population of about 151,000 people. A congregation of Catholic nuns is facilitating this project. We have worked with them for several decades and we currently support five orphanages that they operate. In 2019 we provided $17,135 for this project.Projects: Worlds Children also provided $94,909 for special projects to improve the infrastructure at the orphanages we support. These projects positively affected the 764 sponsored children and over 2,600 unsponsored children living at these orphanages and enjoying the benefits of the projects and programs we support. These projects at various orphanages included: construction work on two new girls dormitories, a protective roof, 3 new borewells, a water purifier, a new sump and water tank, four solar hot water heaters, renovation of one boys toilet facility, five private bathing rooms for girls at one orphanage and 12 private bathing rooms for girls at another orphanage.
