During the 2018-2019 year, By The Hand served approximately 1,523 children in the neighborhoods of Chicago through its after-school programs. 100 percent of high school seniors served by By The Hand graduated and 77 percent enrolled in college or a technical school. By The Hand's program attendance rate was 85 percent and its retention rate was 80 percent. In FY 2019, specialized help was provided in reading to help older kids who don't know how to read and in college prep to help kids in high school prepare for the ACT test and provide guidance to kids wanting to go to college. In academic year 2018-2019: - 86 percent of By The Hand students passed all of their classes, 64 percent made all ABC's; and the average GPA was 2.81. - 100 percent of By The Hand students were offered a nutritious meal each day, 92 percent received eye exams, and 100 percent received dental care. - 82 percent professed faith and 19 percent attended church. - 96 percent received first day gospel welcome packets
