The mission of Envida is to support independent living for persons with disabilities, the elderly and low-income citizens with transportation and home care services in the Pikes Peak region. ENVIDA'S TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM SEEKS TO EXPAND ACCESS, REMOVE TRANSPORTATION BARRIERS, AND FACILITATE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION. IN 2018, ENVIDA PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 23,000 RIDES THROUGHOUT EL PASO COUNTY TO MORE THAN 800 INDIVIDUALS. OUR MOST COMMON TRIP PURPOSES WERE FOR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS (34%), EDUCATION (20%), WORK AND VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES (16%), AND ADULT DAY PROGRAMS (15%).ENVIDA'S CORE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES CONTINUE TO CENTER ON SPECIALIZED TRANSPORTATION WITHIN COLORADO SPRINGS, BUT EXPANSION OF SERVICES HIGHLIGHTED 2019. FOLLOWING THE OCTOBER 2018 LAUNCH OF OUR DEVIATED FIXED ROUTE CONNECTING CALHAN TO COLORADO SPRINGS, THE ROUTE WAS EXPANDED IN RESPONSE TO FEEDBACK FROM THE COMMUNITY IN THE SPRING OF 2019 LEADING TO SUBSTANTIAL GROWTH IN RIDERSHIP. ADDITIONALLY, ENVIDA WAS INVITED TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL TRANSIT SERVICES TO THE CALHAN COMMUNITY FOR SEVERAL LOCAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.IN THE FALL OF 2019, ENVIDA COMPLETED THE PLANNING PROCESS FOR LAUNCHING A SECOND RURAL ROUTE SERVING THE HIGHWAY 94 CORRIDOR AND THE TOWNS OF RUSH, YODER AND ELLICOTT. THIS SERVICE LAUNCHED IN JANUARY OF 2020 AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO REPORTING ON THE SUCCESS OF THE NEW ROUTE.FINALLY, IN DECEMBER OF 2019, ENVIDA FORMALIZED A PARTNERSHIP WITH MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY SENIOR SERVICES IN MONUMENT IN ORDER TO PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE TO THEIR EXISTING VOLUNTEER DRIVER PROGRAM.
