By Targeting The Entirety Of The Steamm Acronym, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math, And Manufacturing, Cdl Places Itself At The Forefront Of The Ever Evolving Description Of A Successful 21st Century Adult - Making Sure To Impart Essential Social Competencies As Well As College And Career Ready Content Knowledge. Cdl Is Not A One Time Learning Experience. All Programming Is Inquiry Based And Challenges Youth To Follow Their Own Inquiries To Relevant Learning Experiences.

ANNUALLY THE CENTER FOR DYNAMIC LEARNING PRODUCES 18 STEAMMPOWERED YOUTH THEATRE PRODUCTIONS FEATURING YOUTH FROM PARTNERING SCHOOL INCLUDING THE GRACE SCHOOL AND HOPE ACADEMY AT MEETING STREET SCHOOL, THE METROPOLITAN CAREER AND TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL, LONSDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, SAYLESVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, LINCOLN CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, NORTHERN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, HENRY BARNARD SCHOOL, STEPHEN ONLY ELEMENTARY, AND CDL'S STATEWIDE MIDDLE HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA PROGRAM.DURING THE SUMMER OF 2018, 90 AT RISK YOUTH FROM ACROSS THE STATE OF RI WERE PROVIDED THEIR SECOND YEAR WORK EXPERIENCES WITH CDL THROUGH GOVERNOR'S WORKFORCE BOARD REAL SKILLS GRANT. CDL BELIEVES FULL WORK READINESS IS NOT ONLY THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS, BUT AN UNDERSTANDING OF ITS IMPACT IN THE LIVES OF EACH PARTICIPANT'S COMMUNITY. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SOUTH SIDE COMMUNITY LAND TRUST AND THE PAWTUCKET HOUSING AUTHORITY, CDL ENSURES THAT YOUTH PARTICIPANTS WILL BE FULLY IMMERSED IN A HANDS ON, STEAMM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART, MATH AND MANUFACTURING) BASED PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS THEM TO GAIN FURTHER WORKFORCE SKILLS, TECHNICAL TRAINING FOR THE CAREERS OF THE FUTURE AND APPLY THEM TO AN AREA THEY ARE FULLY CONNECTED TO AND SEE DAILY - THE PARKS AND GREEN SPACES IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITY. THIS PROGRAM REFURBISHED A COMMUNITY FARM WITH 3 GEODESIC DOMES, BUILT TWO FULLY ACCESSIBLE OUTDOOR CLASSROOMS, AND SEVERAL RAISED BEDS FOR AGRICULTURAL TRAINING. THIS IS A SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART, MATHEMATICS AND MANUFACTURING (STEAMM) EDUCATION WORKFORCE SKILLS PROGRAM USING AN EXPANDED INQUIRY BASED, EXPLORATORY LEARNING CONCEPT (PROVEN AND MASTERED) THAT PROVIDES TEENS THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP HANDS-ON, 21ST CENTURY WORKFORCE SKILLS IN ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING CONCENTRATING ON ELECTRO-MECHANICAL DESIGN, ARCHITECTURE, FABRICATION, CONSTRUCTION, CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS, MATERIAL SCIENCE, PLASTIC/GLASS AND METAL FORMING AND WELDING, PIPE FITTING, PRODUCT PROTOTYPING, EQUIPMENT BUILDING, PRECISION MEASUREMENT, APPLIED MATHEMATICS AND 3D MODELING AS STUDENTS CREATE PRODUCTS TO BETTER THE LIVES OF OTHERS. THIS PROGRAM ALSO AWARDS HIGH SCHOOL AGE YOUTH COLLEGE CREDIT FOR THEIR WORK EXPERIENCE WITH CDL. DURING THE 2018 YEAR WE AWARDED OVER 100 TEENS WITH COLLEGE CREDIT TOWARDS A CERTIFICATE IN TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP AND DESIGN THROUGH ROGER WILLIAMS UNIVERSITY.ADDITIONAL CDL LAUNCHED THE CEE PROGRAM, (CREATE, EXPLORE, ENRICH) AT ASA MESSER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN PROVIDENCE. WE ARE SERVING 100-125 YOUTH DAILY, AT NO COST TO THERE FAMILIES) WHERE THEY EXPERIENCE A WIDE VARIETY OF PROGRAM OFFERINGS SUCH AS WEIRD SCIENCE, YOUNG INVENTORS, BOOKS ALIVE, YOUNG ARTISTS PLAYGROUND, CHORUS, SCOUTS, SWIMMING AND MECHATRONICS.
