Arts for Lawrence (AFL) connects arts and community to inspire everyone every day. Founded in 2006, AFL is the largest nonprofit arts organization in Lawrence and the northeast quadrant of Indianapolis. It offers a diverse blend of affordable quality art programs at the Theater at the Fort, the Visual Art Center, and the Fort Ben Cultural Campus. Programs include festivals, theater performances, outdoor concert series, art classes, art exhibitions, poetry readings, and more. Many of these events are free to the public.

SUMMER ART CAMP - PROVIDES VISUAL ARTS AND PERFORMING ARTS INSTRUCTION TO AGES 6-12 MONDAY-FRIDAY FROM 9:00 AM TO 3:00 PM. BEFORE AND AFTER CAMP CARE FROM 7:30 AM UNTIL 6:00 PM IS AVAILABLE FOR AN ADDITIONAL COST. 50% OF CAMPERS RECEIVE A FULL NEED-BASED SCHOLORSHIP AND ALL CAMPERS RECEIVE A FREE LUNCH. ALL CAMPERS PARTICIPATE IN AN END OF THE WEEK PERFORMANCE FOR THEIR FAMILIES AND THE PUBLIC. THIS PROGRAM IS SUPPORTED BY INDIVIDUAL DONORS AND FAMILY FOUNDATIONS.ART CLASSES TO ALL AGES AND ABILITY LEVELS. ART MEDIUMS INCLUDED CERAMICS/POTTERY WHEEL, DRAWING, PAINTING, JEWELRY MAKING, STAINED GLASS, KID'S CRAFTS AND MORE. ALL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED IN THE CLASS. ARTISTS ARE CONTRACTED TO HELP MARKET THEIR OWN CLASSES, AND RECEIVE 70% OF FEES, WITH PARTNERSHIPS FOR LAWRENCE RETAINING 30% AND COVERING ALL SUPPLY COSTS.OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE ART EXHIBITIONS, GROUP ART PROJECTS, LAWRENCE ARTS AND CULTURE TEAM, AND COMMUNITY WORK DAYS TO REPAIR AND RENOVATE THE THEATER.
