NW Dance Project is dedicated to creating and performing inspired, original contemporary dance works from the field's most talented choreographers from around the world and to providing the finest dance training available for all. - 15th Anniversary Season- 14 new dance works created and performed.- Company completed four successful home season theater performances as well as national and international tours to bring audiences together to experience innovative and original contemporary dance works.- Company conceived, developed, and performed a multi-artistic-discipline Trip the Light Fantastic site-specific set of promenade performances at a downtown Portland historic bank building.- June Summer Premieres program named 2019s Best Portland Dance Performance by Portland Monthly Magazine- Enriching the lives of our local constituents with dance, movement, and creative expression through educational and outreach programing for adults and youth, including offering 48 classes per week and our Dance Moves outreach program serving underserved youth and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities.- Held our Pretty Creatives International Choreographic Competition that awarded creative and performance residencies to choreographers, Joseph Hernandez and Kaloyan Boyadjiev.- Held two successful training programs for aspiring dancers, LAUNCH (age 21+ / 27 dancers) and Summer Dancer Intensive (ages 14-24 / 96 dancers). Both programs involved daily dance classes, mastery of NW Dance Projects select original repertoire, and mastery of new dance works which were performed at program-concluding public theater performances.- Provided raises and maintained fully-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for all staff and company artists
