The Next Step provides tuition assistance to individuals who are active in a 12-step recovery program from alcohol or substance abuse. The scholarship recipients must demonstrate financial need and live in the St. Louis metropolitan area, although they may attend school anywhere. The financial assistance we provided is for tuition and books. Our program is open to individuals in a 12-step recovery program who are pursuing an academic or vocational education. In 2018, we awarded 59 scholarships and, since 2005, we have awarded over $1 million in scholarships.
