About
Plains Grains, Inc. facilitates wheat quality survey for the hard red winter wheat region of the United States. It is pulling samples from seven states, including: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Montana. Once samples have been collected, they are sent to wheat quality labs for testing. The results from these tests are disseminated in multiple ways. They are posted on the Plains Grains web site for public access, a summary of the data is provided to U.S. Wheat Associates to use in their annual reports, and each state is given their information to distribute however they like. In addition to administering the wheat quality survey, PGI also builds relationships and shares data with both domestic and foreign industry members to promote the use of U.S. hard red winter wheat.
